The Location

It occupies an area of 9,000 square meters as an open archaeological park.

The museum includes

Ancient column capitals

And water jugs

And tombstones bearing Kufic inscriptions

In addition to commemorative plaques from the Ayyubid, Mamluk, and Ottoman periods.

The Development Work

These architectural treatments were preceded by extensive archaeological excavations in the Al-Mahka area, which yielded several important archaeological finds. These include a brick basin that was attached to one of the Ottoman buildings that stood on this site, as well as five round Ottoman brick kilns, which were also used for repairing edged weapons, in keeping with the military nature of the Islamic site. A sixth brick kiln, also dating back to the Ayyubid period, was used for the same purpose. Additionally, the remains of a stone prayer hall (with a mihrab and an adjacent door) dating back to the Ottoman period were discovered. All these artifacts have been preserved as archaeological symbols of the developments this area has undergone throughout its various historical periods.
